Spilling Blocks
Today in the garden, I found that the bin of broken breeze blocks was filled with stagnant rainwater. At first, I was a bit dismayed as I remember the sign in my (late) Grandma's old flat (in Hong Kong) that prohibited collecting stagnant water because of mosquitoes. Then I decided to see if I could tilt the bin over with my foot. To my surprise, I was able to shift it and the water began tipping out.
As it did so, some of the blocks fell out and I decided to let the bin fall. When I did so, I was worried because I immediately thought about how if and when the bin would need to be removed that it would be more inconvenient if the blocks were scattered. But a moment later, I realised that it would not take me all that long to put them back in the bin.
I also felt pleased at discovering the blocks as the dog digs holes around the garden and we are worried she might escape. Gradually I have been kind of running out of spare building materials to block up the holes but these blocks could be useful.
In this experience, I noticed how my mind was trying to figure out and appreciate ideas and solutions while navigating certain barriers. I noticed that I was able to see the steps to moving beyond the barriers.
