QRAFT BISTRO - ART COLLECTIVE

Qraft Bistro was a quartet of UK-based queer artists tabling at zine and book fairs between 2011-2019. We sold zines and DIY merchandise as well as running mini drop-by creative activities. We were at: The London Zine Symposium (2011), DIY Cultures, the ICA, Decolonise Fest and many others. We began life under the name Interactive Monster Unit in 2011.

β€œOne of our core principles is that anybody can be creative! We bring art materials including lo-fi, everyday materials with which event visitors create something in less than a minute or longer, depending on our brief and their available time/ energy. We hope that by encouraging people to unleash their own creativity, especially while at an event celebrating creativity, that they will find moments to enjoy / discover their own creativity which can help add a little autonomous magic to busy/ stressed living.”

Qraft Bistro consisted 2 Black artists, 1 person of colour and 1 white artist: International Nobody, Dorothy Damage, The Mollusc Dimension (then Squid) and Wild. Our work has taken us in different directions however we are still friends. Please enjoy the photos of the wonderful craft and zine sessions we made happen!
