POETRY > Sonnet 4 - My Bit (Petrarchan)
My Bit (Petrarchan)
My morning fights the feeling, “No one cares
about my efforts to keep making art!”
Collaboration's hard when far apart
from those I care about, and sometimes there's
in fantasy-filled texts, a heart that dares
imagine hanging out again, by darts
of breeze, or dog or both, and food to share.
With no forgotten books, or any farts
piano lessons aren't the same on Skype.
Technology helps some through trying times
though others struggle to get hold of it.
I'm grateful that I'm well enough to type
to show you that I care, I scribble rhymes
creating can save lives – I'll do my bit.
