3D Asians - A poem for Asians
do you ever wonder if our parents insist upon
this hectic and exhausting parade of obligation
coercion and conformity
because that is what they knew?
duty (whatever the dynasty or none)
derailed by ghost child shaking off the battle-dust
of some great-great-great-great grandfather
and great-grandma's too-small shoes
despite the lure of victor spoils
some of us hover at the edge
(aka the heart) of society's consciousness
firing tiny stories into the sky
NOTES:
A poem about Asian family and obligations written on 26/12/20.
