FAQ about Asians Have Feelings Too - Listening, Placard-making & Share party!
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Join us on Sunday 19th September to hear the official track at the listening party and make art that says Asians Have Feelings Too!
Click here to get tickets for the event!
1. WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?
Anyone of any race and gender in any location who wants to make a placard saying Asians Have Feelings Too and listen to my new song!
As an isolated queer and trans East-Asian, I am *especially* hoping Queer /Trans/ Non binary/ Intersex ESEA will join! Their shares and those of QTIBIPOC are particularly welcomed due to the lack of representation.
To clarify, ESEA and BIPOC, white people are encouraged to join the event and make placards to express solidarity.
2. What art are you looking for?
3. IS SUBMITTING MY ART FOR THE MUSIC VIDEO OPTIONAL?
Yes. It's completely up to you whether you want to submit it to be in the video or not. I hope many people will but you can decide after you hear the song and make the art, and even after the event. I will let you know more about how to submit your artwork at the event.
4. ACCESS INFORMATION
Currently, there is no live transcription or subtitling service (eg. in English). I will look into making this possible. If this changes, I will update this event.
There are plans to make:
An accessible, audio-described version of the resulting video.
If you require access or support which I haven't mentioned, please feel free to contact me. This event is unfunded and I am learning with my limited capacity, but where possible, I will take steps to make it more accessible. Thank you for your patience.
5. Can I be off-camera?
While I like to be off-camera myself, it is also lovely to see peoples' faces. As someone who is often the only ESEA or BIPOC at events, it would be wonderful to see many ESEA and BIPOC at this event.
That said, you are welcome to be on or off-camera for all or part of the event.
However, when sharing, you are requested to have your camera on if only to show the placard you have made. If you have access barriers to this, please contact me in advance if possible, or direct message the facilitator on the night to alert usm if possible.
6. Will I get a chance to share about my art? How long do I share for?
There will be 3 minutes max for each person to give space for more people to share. If the number of attendees is very small, then the duration may be lengthened at our discretion.
For those who don't want to speak, they can type in the chat, and it will be read out.
If the number of attendees is high, not everyone will get a chance to speak. If that happens, you are welcome to share your artwork and tag @TheMolluscDimension on your socials if you like. I welcome hearing about your experience and constructive feedback.

Vibrantly colourful, mixed media banner. On the left is the title of the event, boldly drawn in sharpie, in warm, red/pink/orange colours. At the centre is a photo of an East-Asian in a black tuxedo with gold octopus collar pins and a black homberg hat, standing with arms holding jacket. A small cartoon drawing of the same person wearing a fish pattern shirt and waving can be seen. From the left bottom corner are marker pens.
